Chess Tournaments are really special. Firstly, they are a fun way to meet new players. In addition, they test your skills against multiple opponents. Finally, the classic Swiss format insures you will have many games against similarly skilled opponents.

Every Move Matters Chess Collection educates visitors, fans, players, and scholars by preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting the game of chess and its continuing cultural and artistic significance. Who: This chess tournament is open to all L.A. Chess Ladder Members. Membership is free and open to anyone, so send an email to lachessladder@yahoo.com to join if you aren’t a member already.

What/When/Where: This will be a Swiss tournament with 4-6 rounds depending on how many players we have. The time control will be G5 minutes with a 5 second increment.  We will be using chess tournament software to minimize time between rounds. This tournament will feature trophies for 1st place, 2nd place and for other achievements. Chess sets & timers will be provided. The tournament will be played at 9836 Flower street. Bellflower, CA 90706. The event will take place on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at 2 pm. This event is hosted by ladder player, Erik Gober.

What/When/Where: This will be a Swiss tournament with 4-6 rounds depending on how many players we have. The entry fee is $15. The time control will be G10 minutes with a 5 second increment.  We will be using chess tournament software to minimize time between rounds. This tournament will feature prize money. Chess sets & timers will be provided. The tournament will be played at Earle’s located at 3864 Crenshaw blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90008.
