With sound defence, black need only advance his queen pawns to  seal victory.} Qc1+ 27. Kh2 Qxh6+ 28. Kg1 Qg7 {Black grabs another pawn and prevents mate on g7.} 29. Qg5 a5 30. Ne4 {White doesn't give up. He aims to infiltrate with  his night on f6.} h5 31. Nf6+ {Black has a few options here. 31...  Kf7 is the strongest with the aim of retreating his king. 31...Rxf6 is another  good option since black is already far ahead in material.} Kh8 {Unfortunately,  this move allows a mate attack. Do you see it?} 32. Rxh5+ gxh5 33. Qxh5+ {White wins! Black played a wonderful, error-free game up until this point. White played  aggressively but inaccurately and this led to a fizzled attack and a lost game.  White is certainly lucky to get this win. Perhaps the lesson is, never, ever  give up!}

Black is trying to be aggressive on the kingside but is  neglecting his own king safety. No safe place to castle, now.} 17. g5 fxe5 18.  fxe5 Rc8 19. Qd3 {White wins a pawn.} Na5 {Kd8 or Rf8 are much better  defensive moves, while Na5 is ignoring the action.} 20. Qxg6+ Kd8 21. Rf7 {A  brilliant attack. White wins at least a piece.} Be8 22. White on the otherhand played a wonderful  game. Uday is now the new #1.} *

Nf3 Bg7 5. d4  {White has a perfect center while black has a double fianchetto set-up.  Contrasting styles!} e6 6. d5 e5 7. Bg5 f6 8. Bh4 Ne7 9. d6 Nc8 10. Nxe5 {A  cute little capture, taking advantage of black's pinned f-pawn. 10.dxc7 is  also worth considering.} Nxd6 11. Bd5 c6 12. Bb3 Qe7 13. O-O $2 Qxe5 $2 {Black  misses an opportunity! Qxe5 doesn't win a piece since white has Bg3. On the  other hand, black could have played g5 which does win a piece.} 14. Bg3 Qg5 15.  Qxd6 Bf8 16. Qd4 c5 17. Qd3 Ba6 18. Qd5 Nc6 19. Rfe1 {We have a good game.  Material is even, but white has better development and a stronger pawn  structure. An interesting battle could follow. Black must watch out for checks  on the a1-g8 diagonal.} Rd8 $4 {Unfortunately, black 's move gives white an  instant mate.} 20. Qf7# 1-0

Nxd5 Qxd5 {After some  exchanges, the position is about equal. Black has a strong center.} 7. Qe2 {  This blocks the white bishop. White will require another move before he can  develop his bishop.} Bd6 8. Qe3 {Nb4 is a strong move, threatening to win the  pawn at a2 and threatening to fork the king & queen at c2. Black now has  several opportunities to play it, but he continues his development instead.}  O-O 9. Be2 Bd7 10. O-O Rae8 11. Rd1 {Black relieves the central tension.  Better would have been 11.Nd4 or 11.Nb4.} e4 12. dxe4 Qxe4 13. Qxe4 Rxe4 14.  Re1 {Better is blocking the treat with 14.Be3 while developing a piece.} Rfe8  15. Be3 Nb4 {Black finally plays Nb4!} 16. Rec1 f5 $2 {Black makes a horrible  mistake. 17.Ng5 and black cannot avoid losing his rook. An Example line is 17..  .Re7; 18.Bc4+ Kh8; 19.Nf7+ Rxf7; 20.Bxf7} 17. c3 $2 {White didn't see 17.Ng5.}  Nd5 18. c4 $2 {18.Ng5 was still extremly strong. In the spirit of his gambit, developing a piece with 4...Bxd6 makes more sence. 4...cxd6 leaves him with an isolated pawn that is also blocking his bishop. In short, James is up a clear pawn and has a better game.} 5. Nf3 Nf6 6. Nc3 Bg4 7. Be2 Bxf3 $2 {Grey gives up the bishop pair for no clear reason. In most games, bishops are better than knights. Don't exchange bishops for knights unless there is a clear benifit. On the other hand, exchanging a knight for a bishop is often a good strategy.} 8.
